Posted by Julia Hawker on Saturday, February 17, 2018, In : Pictures and Paintings

After far too long Summerlands Art is back!

Please forgive us for the long gap. We've moved across the country to sunny Weymouth with new works as well as your old favourites.

You are welcome to email, message, phone, text or even write to us if you'd like to ask about anything we do.

Commissions are always welcome. Please contact us to discuss what you'd like.

Sovereign Shingle

Posted by Phil Hawker on Tuesday, May 31, 2016, In : Pictures and Paintings

Houses and flats for homes; the harbour for watery refuge; wooden groynes to hold the beach in place; Martello Tower no 66 to remind us of more violent, invasive times.

All these features, planned and built by us, are outlived by the natural beauty of the coast. Sea-smoothed pebbles; hardened empty shells and starfish help to remind us of life where sea meets shore.

St Peter Port Harbour

Posted by Phil Hawker on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, In : Pictures and Paintings
As any Guern knows, the town harbour is the most beautiful in the world! There is nothing like the wonderful feeling of home, as I sail into its safe arms, while the sun rises over Herm and Sark, bathing the buildings and the sea in translucent light. Ahhh! - Julia x

The original is with our son in Munich, but prints are available here
